Waiting on the UPS Man

My car is loaded with presents, clothes, dog food, etc. ready to see family. I however have been waiting for our last Christmas package to be delivered today. No big deal. I have had plenty of time to rest, watch almost an entire season of Friends, clean, and read blogs. Sounds like a good day to me! I do wish it would get here soon though. I created a wish list while I have been waiting. I found these adorable mugs and bowls on the West Elm website!! I know I don't need anymore mugs, but they are calling my name!!!
And how adorable are these owl measuring cups?!?!
And the napkins, towels, and oven mits?! Love love love!
Oh and I am also in love with Jonathan's new iPad! It is so much more fun to read blogs on it!
Oh yay UPS literally just drove up!!!!!!!!

Have a Merry Christmas!

I have 2 Whole Weeks off???

One of the great things about being a teacher is time off! So what have I been doing during my time off? Well sleeping in for sure! I have really enjoyed not waking up to an alarm and sleeping in as long as I want! Here are some other things I have been doing:

Since we are going to be out of town Christmas day, Jonathan and I celebrated our Christmas yesterday.
We enjoyed a fake fire (thank you Netflix) and Christmas music
Tucker has officially destroyed two of his new toys...it only took one day! This is why I buy them at Dollar Tree :)

I have enjoyed lots of hot chocolate and candy canes
I did a little crafting and made something for my front door. I never have anything to put on my door for winter but now I do!
Jonathan got me a new Kitchenaid stand mixer for Christmas!
Soooo, I had to do some baking! I made some yummy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! I also made some cupcakes but they were terrible! Too embarrassed to even post about!
Our poor tree lights went out. All but one strand :(
I made a chalkboard grocery list for my refrigerator
I've also been going to Zumba! If you haven't tried Zumba, you should! It is one workout I never want to miss!!

Just think....it's only Wednesday!!

Quick and Easy Recipe for the Holiday Season

If you are needing a quick and easy dessert for the holiday season, this is a great choice!! It is super easy, inexpensive, and quick! I had some girls over last night to watch Christmas movies and this is what I served. All you need is crescent rolls, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8-10 minutes! So yummy!!

Thank you Pinterest for your yummy recipes!

A Rainy Day

I must tell you about my rainy, lazy Saturday. It has been very relaxing. I have done absolutely nothing. In fact, I am still in my pajamas and it is 3:30! I have loved every minute of it!

I started my morning off with a yummy breakfast and watched Christmas movies with Jonathan, Hershey, and Tucker
I decided I was bored and wanted to bake cookies...I will save the recipe for a later post
Then I decided to lay on the couch again with my comfy socks and stare at our Christmas tree...I love Christmas decorations!
Did I mention I also had a cup of apple cider in my hand?
Speaking of Christmas decorations...here are some pics of mine!
Some new ornaments I got this year

I wish my house could be decorated for Christmas all year!

Pumpkin Bread

I found this delicious recipe in the Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book!

Pumpkin Bread:

Ingredients:
3 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2/3 cup water
1 15-ounce can pumpkin

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom and sides of two loaf pans. In an extra large mixing bowl, beat sugar and oil with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add eggs and beat well; set sugar mixture aside.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Alternately add flour mixture and the water to sugar mixture, beating on low speed after each addition just until combined. Beat in pumpkin. Spoon batter into prepared pans.

3. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near centers comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.

Enjoy!

Am I bored? I think so...

Wow two posts in one day! There are several reason for this: 1. I am sick at home and bored 2. I love my job and want to share it with everyone! 3. The time changes tonight so I have an extra hour to waste!

So, like I said I have been sick....now for like 3 weeks.? I can't remember it's been so long. All I want to do is rest but at the same time be busy! So, today I decided to stay at home and make some of the charts I found on Pinterest!

This week at school, I am going to spend a lot of time focusing on retelling stories and comparing different texts:
I will also be introducing Long vowels
{Obviously I still have 3 more charts to do}
Oh and below is another new addition to my classroom! My sweet friend Kristy gave me this adorable owl!
To top the day off, I took Hershey to the vet this morning and she was good! This is a big blessing! She has been through so much this past month and to hear good news from the vet is something to be thankful for! So, to celebrate, I took her to Sonic to get a treat!
Now it's time to snuggle with Hershey and finish watching the Razorbacks!
